Dr. David Schor, a cosmetic dentist in New Jersey, and his practice have announced their certification in cosmetic facial injections, including BOTOX® and dermal fillers such as Restylane®, by the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry. Dr. Schor’s practice, Imagine Advanced Dental Arts, is the first dental practice in Lawrenceville, NJ to receive the certification for injectable facial treatments such as BOTOX in New Jersey.
The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry, a dental license distributor and regulation division of consumer affairs, recently approved certification for dental practices providing injectable dermal fillers such as BOTOX® Cosmetic. At his practice for cosmetic dentistry in New Jersey, Dr. David Schor and his partner Dr. Maria Rhode were the first dentists in Lawrenceville, NJ to receive certification for the use of facial injections. Dr. Schor says he is excited about the ability to provide patients with even more opportunities to enhance their appearance.
Following completion of an intensive, hands-on training course with the American Academy of Facial Cosmetics, Dr. Schor and Dr. Rhode met the requirements of the New Jersey Board of Dentistry for the administration of neurotoxins like BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® and dermal fillers such as Restylane®. The training course included live model demonstrations, hands-on technique development, education on storage and injection techniques, and understanding the types of wrinkles that can be improved. Dr. Schor says that after having attended the course, he feels confident of the aesthetic benefits available to patients through facial injections as well as the safety of these procedures. “Over time, a person’s repetitive facial movements (smiling, frowning, furrowing the brow) can cause wrinkles and fine lines, making them look and feel older than they really are. Dermal cosmetic injections bring limitless possibilities to patient’s seeking to rejuvenate and revitalize their appearance.”
Dr. Schor says facial injections such as neurotoxins and dermal fillers are effective ways to rejuvenate the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by smoothing skin and creating a vibrant, youthful appearance. He also says combining dermal fillers or neurotoxins such as BOTOX® Cosmetic with a cosmetic dental procedure can offer patients a comprehensive boost to the confidence of their smile. Dr. Schor insists, however, that patients looking to enhance their facial aesthetics through injections and dermal fillers should be sure to consult with a licensed and certified physician before undergoing any treatment. “Proper certification and experience are extremely important to ensure that injectable pharmacologics are properly administered for the health and safety of patients who use these medications for cosmetic purposes.”
