At Imagine Advanced Dental Arts, our experienced cosmetic dentists provide a range of treatment options to help correct common dental problems and prevent future issues that can damage your teeth and gums. Routine dental procedures are not only important for your overall oral health, they can also keep your smile fresh, clean, bright!
Oral Exams
A routine oral exam and dental cleaning should be performed at least two times per year to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy. Although many people have a certain level of anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist, our relaxing facility and experienced team of dentists and staff are dedicated to giving you a thorough evaluation to catch any problems early and prevent more severe issues down the road.
VELscope Oral Cancer Screening
It is vitally important that all patients be screened for oral cancer on a regular basis. Imagine Advanced Dental Arts utilizes the Velscope Oral Cancer Screening System to thoroughly examine you for potential cancerous growths that can be missed in routine exams. The exam involves no pain or discomfort and only takes about two minutes to complete. The VELscope system uses a light that targets the inside of your mouth, illuminating any suspicious tissue that could be a pre-cancerous lesion. Survival rates for oral cancer are very high when it is caught early. Oral cancer screenings should be undertaken at least once a year for those who do not use tobacco products, and twice a year for those who smoke and/or chew tobacco.
Digital X-Rays
Digital x-ray technology reduces patient exposure to radiation by 90% compared with traditional images. The technology also makes it a more comfortable procedure, and the results are almost instantaneous and clearly visible. In fact, the image can be color-enhanced and enlarged so that you can more easily see and understand what you are looking at. Digital x-rays can also be sent to insurance providers electronically, making communication with your insurance company more rapid and reducing delays for necessary dental work.
DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detection
We all know that the best way to a beautiful smile is through a consistent oral hygiene routine. However, even those of us with the best habits may be faced with an unwanted cavity along the way. In the past, this meant being inconvenienced with a lengthy dental visit to remove the decay and fill the tooth. With the DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection system, our doctors are able to detect cavities at their earliest stages meaning preservation of more of your tooth. As part of our comprehensive oral exams, the DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection system is utilized allowing our doctors to discover problem areas before the damage has been done.
At Imagine Advanced Dental Arts, we realize that our patients place a great deal of value on healthy, attractive teeth and we are committed to helping you maintain them. If you have been putting off your visit to the dentist, don’t wait until a small problem becomes a major concern. Whether you are looking for a new dental home or simply in need of a routine checkup, please contact our New Jersey dental office today to arrange your appointment.
Intraoral Cameras
An intraoral camera makes it much easier for one of our dentists to identify potential problems in the mouth and explain to you what’s going on with your teeth and gums. A tiny camera inserted into your mouth relays images to a computer screen, where you and your dentist can see clear pictures of your teeth and discuss dental issues that may be occurring. This technology is a great way to visualize problem areas and help you understand the best treatment options that may be available to you.
Sealants
Dental sealants are generally quick and effective solutions for helping prevent cavities and decay from forming on the back teeth. During treatment, a durable composite material is placed overtop the chewing surface(s) of the affected tooth or teeth, reducing the chance for detrimental bacteria to form and cause significant damage. For most patients, sealants can last a lifetime and help diminish the risk of developing further—potentially severe—dental issues that may require more extensive treatment later in time.
Periodontal (Gum) Care
Millions of Americans are affected by periodontal (gum) diseases such as gingivitis – which, if left untreated – can lead, not only to major dental problems, but also a higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Our dentists can give you a comprehensive periodontal exam and provide you with effective treatment to reduce the effects of gum disease. Although there is no cure for periodontal disease, preventive treatment can go a long way toward keeping the gums healthy, and procedures such as deep scaling, root planning, and other therapies can stop the problem from getting worse.
